Rye & the surrounding area has many events coming back for 2022 which run throughout the year. Rye also hosts two markets weekly with the Farmers Market on a Wednesday & the main market every Thursday in the train station carpark.

There is so much to see & do in Rye & the surrounding areas with a wealth of visitor attractions, unspoilt beaches, beauty spots, the 1066 route, art festivals, jazz festivals just to name a few that makes our guests return as they cannot fit it all into one visit! Here are a few of our favourite picks to help you plan your visit:
Visit the Beach!
Miles of gorgeous golden sandy beach with sand dunes at Camber Sands that are both child and dog friendly (designated areas for dogs between 1 May - 30 September). Camber has a wide open vista with fabulous views and miles of shoreline for walking. Camber Castle is great to visit.
Neighbouring beaches at New Romney, Winchelsea, Broomhill Sands & the pier in Hastings are also well worth a visit.
The Discovery Centre is a must visit as it's the accessible hub for the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Open daily all year round, that host wildlife walks, family events, nature courses. They also have a glorious café and shop.
Rye Castle Ypres Tower is well worth a visit to indulge on the Rye's history in pre-roman, roman, norman & medieval times. Located in East Street, you can also admire the quaint houses in cobbled Mermaid Street & climb the tower in St Mary's Church.
Various guided walking tours are available in & around in Rye from the History Tours, Smuggling adventure tours, ghost tours. Rye Heritage Centre on the Strand can provide you with information on these walks that are highly recommended.
Kent and East Sussex Railway is a good day out for families. Special events take place for children, Adults can fine dine on the Wealdman Pullman and there are also plenty of railway walks to pack out your day.
